Stage Beyond does Strictly!!!
Stage Beyond is going a stage beyond with sparkles, sequins and glitter balls in a very special Stage Beyond does Strictly themed fundraiser!
The theatre company for adults with learning disabilities is getting ready to host the first ever Strictly Come Dancing competition in the North West where all dancing participants have disabilities. In just five weeks, this determined young bunch will be donning their dancing shoes to raise money for their upcoming production of Rashomon in the Millennium Forum.
Choreographers Katie Harkin and Harriet Scott agreed that 'Dancing is for everyone'. Stage Beyond's facilitator Kate Guelke added ‘I know this group - with their fierce commitment and their big personalities - will put on a spectacular show. We've got a lot of different numbers ranging from golden oldies and chart hits to musical theatre and Disney'. Stage Beyond's Outreach Facilitator Margaret Carlin is organising this event and concludes 'I want the City to see how amazing our company are as all-round performers and how dedicated they are to helping secure the future success of Stage Beyond as a theatre company'.
As well as the competition itself, the audience will be treated to group dances, a DJ set from local Students from the Tuned In Project and a fabulous raffle. All performed in the luxurious yet family-friendly surroundings of Pitchers Winebar & Restaurant, Stage Beyond does Strictly is bound to get toes tapping and hands clapping in a diverse, inclusive celebration of all things Strictly.
